About Us

Peter Pan Playschool in Bookham was established in 1992 and provides high-quality learning through play for children aged from 2 years to 4 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.  Our staff work in close partnership with parents and carers and we aim to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment which encourages the development of social, personal and emotional skills through creative and physical play.

We offer sessions every morning from Monday to Friday, with extended sessions on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (term time only) with a maximum of 26 children at each session.  We operate with excellent staff:child ratios and each child is allocated a member of staff as their Key Person who works closely with the parents and carers to help with settling in. They then continue to work with parents and carers to monitor learning and development and discuss any potential barriers to making the expected progress.

Our parents tell us time and again that it is our wonderful staff that make Peter Pan Playschool the lovely place it is; many of the staff have been with us over 10 years.  We know that our parents really value their considerable expertise and their caring approach, particularly when children are just starting at playschool and need lots of support to feel settled.

The staff at Peter Pan Playschool work very closely with parents to provide the best possible care for each child; parents are encouraged to come along to one whole session every half term (or more if they would like!) and can chat to staff at the beginning and end of each session about their child and how they are getting on.  There are also opportunities throughout each year for parents to come and see what their children have been doing eg Nativity Play, Sports Day, and there are a number of social events when parents can meet one another and socialise in a relaxed environment. We also offer parent chats and the children’s learning journals are stored securely online so parents can access these at home to ensure they are kept up to date with their children’s learning and development.

Peter Pan Playschool supports children (and their carers) with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, working closely with the Surrey Early Years Educational Effectiveness Team, any other relevant agencies and parents/carers to help encourage their children’s development and learning.

Peter Pan Playschool is a member of the Early Years Alliance and we use Thrive to support children’s personal, social and emotional development.
