Greengrocers visit

What a lovely outing we had today! We’ve been exploring real food in the home corner, so arranged a visit to the local Greengrocers, Laytons in Bookham High Street to further develop our understanding of food. The children were so excited to see the vivid colours and different textures on offer, and we all chose one fruit or vegetable to take home and also some to share at playschool. In the afternoon the staff cooked the cauliflower and cabbage for the children to taste and apparently it was delicious!

Spring Term!

We’re looking forward to returning to playschool on Monday 4th January, and hearing all about the children’s Christmas holidays. As ever, if your child or household member has coronavirus symptoms, please do follow the current government guidance which now includes self-isolating for 10 days rather than 14 if you are a close contact of someone with Coronavirus.

End of term Nativity Play

Enormous thanks to everyone for your support to help keep playschool safe and open over the last few months. Special thanks to Ted and the team at Eastwick Road Church for supporting our Nativity Play, which we were able to hold in the church as a service with a small audience, and we even managed a visit from a covid secure Santa!

End of Term

We had a fun end of term party and picnic, followed by our leavers ceremony to say farewell to the older children who are moving on to school. It has been such a privilege to see the children develop and grow, especially during the last half term, when those who returned showed true resilience in how they adapted to our new normal at playschool.

Welcome back!

It was wonderful to welcome back some of the children in June. We can’t wait to see the rest of you and some new friends in September. Please have a look at some of the changes we’ve introduced to help keep everyone safe. Enormous thanks to everyone at Eastwick Road Church for allowing us to continue to use the hall and for their ongoing support.

Impromptu music and movement session!

Some of the children self selected the musical instruments, and some of the children weren’t impressed by the noise, so we moved into the side room and had an impromptu music and movement session! The focus on the children’s faces shows just how much learning was going on, and even better as it was chosen by them, and then extended by the adults.
